Mobile Snow Report:
Thursday, December 18, 2014

Killington's historical average snowfall for December is 33 inches and, with two weeks left in the month, the Beast has already surpassed that total. We added another 3 inches to the total last night, giving us 35 so far for this delightful December.

35 inches is a lot of snow and it's also the reason that Killington boasts so much terrain, so early in the season; more miles of open terrain than any other Eastern resort, in fact. 44 trails are groomed today, including such signature trails as Superstar, Cascade, and East Fall. Of course well also groom the vast majority of our easier terrain, as we always do, to give learning skiers and riders the best possible experience.

Ten lifts are scheduled, with key lifts turning from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Terrain Parks
The Killington Parks Crew brings you not one, not two, but three parks: Easy Street with 7 features in the Lil' Stash for progressing riders, Reason with 6 features at North Ridge and Mouse Run Park with 20 features at the top of Snowdon. Timberline is up next, and stay tuned - the snow guns have been blasting The Stash top to bottom.

Base Lodges
Snowshed and K-1 Base Lodges are open with all services, and the Peak Lodge is open daily with food and drink service from one hour after the lifts open until 3:00 p.m. Ramshead Base Lodge will only be open for youth Snow Sports Lessons and the Friendly Penguin Child Care Center Monday through Friday, but will be open with full services on the weekend.

Pico Mountain is open and your Killington lift pass is good there too. Get the details at

We make sure to open first each year for a reason. The first 40 days of the longest season in the East are already behind us.
